What makes a great web designer?
29 Jun 2015

“The problem is there are no simple “right” answers for most Web design questions (at least not for the important ones). What works is good, integrated design that fills a need—carefully thought out, well executed, and tested.” (Steve Krug)

Design cannot be of negligible importance since design explains the nature. For designers who create design, they keep in mind the views and nature of people on a large spectrum since the design which they are creating is delivered to those people whom they will never meet in practical lives but their designs will surely meet these people. Hence, their opinion and appreciation is a prime factor which shouldn’t be ignored.

Below are certain do’s of web designers which they obey while creating an outclass design, which they have learned over years of experience and trial.

Emotional attitude

It has been observed over years of study and experimentation that users not just run after what works for the best or what offer the best services. Have you ever wondered why advertisements more or less invoke a tinge of our personal lives? Why we are affectionate to such ads? This is because we love emotions. Designs that failed to deliberately deliver emotions do not gain much appreciation in the world of today.

Synchronizing with developers

Designers and developers should be in sound communication with one another. Developers should be indulged in the process of designing since these developers can mould the websites in the form favorable to both designers and the company. Designers and developers both work together cohesively to give life to a particular design.

Correct design

It has become a common fad that people chase after the best rather than chasing after the correct design. Just like digital design though it is essential for the word of mouth of today yet it can never be categorized as the pure form of art.

Designers usually do what their customers need. They do not superimpose what their creativity urges rather they put form and exemplify the correct order in regard to the public demand. No matter how brilliantly creative their ideas are but if their customers already love the way they used to do it’s a pretty wrecked idea to demolish the former layout.

3 click rule

3 click rule says that a designer must think out of the box. 3 click rule says that a user should find whatever he is looking for within the 3 clicks. When the number of clicks increases the interest of the users mitigates simultaneously.

Certain dos of the web designers segregate them from the rest of the crowd of similar interest. These dos have given them extra privilege because of high comprehension within the field of web design.

“Designers love subtle cues, because subtlety is one of the traits of sophisticated design. But Web users are generally in such a hurry that they routinely miss subtle cues.” (Steve Krug)
